Our Therapy is Not One Size Fits All!

At ALA Therapy, we understand that one-size-fits-all therapy simply doesn't work.

Each person who walks through our doors has their own unique set of experiences, challenges, and goals – and that's exactly how we approach their care.

"Too often, people feel like they have to conform to a therapist's particular style or method, but we believe that true healing and growth can only happen when the treatment plan is tailored to the individual."

says April Lancit, the founder of ALA Therapy.

That's why the team of certified therapists at ALA Therapy takes the time to get to know each client on a deep level. From the very first session, they work to understand the client's specific needs, concerns, and desired outcomes. This allows them to craft a personalized treatment plan that addresses those unique factors.

"We don't just apply the same cookie-cutter approach to every person who comes to see us," explains April. "Instead, we draw from a wide range of therapeutic modalities and techniques to find the ones that will be most effective for that particular client."

For some, that might mean a focus on cognitive-behavioral therapy to help reframe negative thought patterns. For others, it could involve a more holistic, mind-body approach that incorporates elements of mindfulness and somatic work. And for couples or families, the therapists at ALA use their expertise in marriage and family therapy to help strengthen relationships and heal interpersonal wounds.

"The key is flexibility and responsiveness," says April. "We're constantly assessing and adjusting the treatment plan to ensure that it continues to meet the client's evolving needs."

This personalized approach is especially important for the diverse communities that ALA Therapy serves. As a Black-owned practice, they understand the unique challenges and cultural considerations that people of color face when it comes to mental health.

"Many of our clients have had negative experiences with therapy in the past, where they felt misunderstood or even judged," April explains. "At ALA, we work hard to create a safe, judgment-free space where they can feel seen and heard."

Ultimately, the team at ALA Therapy is dedicated to empowering each client to take charge of their own healing journey. By tailoring the treatment to their individual needs and goals, they help their clients develop the tools and resilience to thrive long-term.

"Our mission is to ensure that everyone who walks through our doors feels valued, respected, and supported," says April. "Because when you have a therapist who truly gets you, the possibilities for growth and transformation are endless."
